In mid-May, we partnered with Grant Canyon Oil and Gas LLC and ElectraTherm to successfully generate clean, lower-carbon electricity at an oil field in Nevada. As we raised 100 percent of the capital for this initial pilot, we’re proud to be the first company to produce geothermal energy at an oil site using private funding. The energy is used to power a portion of Grant Canyon’s operations at the oil field, reducing total greenhouse gas emissions from their operations. This was the first step in our goal to provide affordable energy that bridges the gap between fossil fuels and renewable energy. Now we’re focused on optimizing and scaling our operations to help oil and gas operators reduce their carbon emissions and generate renewable baseload energy for the grid.

As we transition into a carbon-free electricity future, we need all forms of renewable energy to power the world. Geothermal energy is clean, renewable, and most importantly baseload.
Transitional Energy (TE) deploys modular geothermal power units in oil and gas basins across the United States to generate clean electricity, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and provide consistent power. Where excess electricity is produced, long term PPAs can be signed with local utilities or sold behind the meter to onsite power users.
Direct use of produced water after electrical generation can be used to grow hot house fruits and vegetables, heat buildings, or drying various crops for example.
The company's founders and management leverage their previous 98 years of combined experience in well operations, reservoir characterization, geochemistry, policy, finance, and energy startups to make this company a reality.
TE combines energy solutions in a unique way to reduce cost and risk. Unlike the significant surface disturbance and intermittent power generation of wind and solar energy, TE will provide baseload power and eliminate surface disturbance by utilizing existing infrastructure. Further, TE eliminates the major capital risk of exploration and drilling required in traditional geothermal operations and accelerates the payback period by up to 5 years. This allows us to generate baseload, renewable power, while minimizing environmental disturbance and risk.
